This was such a fun session! Filled with so many cheeky giggles from big sister who started out the most willing model, but in classic three year old style, got a bit bored and decided playing coy was way more fun. But the truth is it doesn’t matter, it’s the way everyone deals with it that’s so much more important. And these parents rocked it! They kept it fun, lighthearted and low pressure. Instead of getting frustrated and angry, which would likely result in the child getting upset, the whole thing became a game.

I can work with cheeky toddlers and kids who don’t want to sit still, but it’s so much harder getting nice shots when children are crying and parents are angry. Besides, I don’t want you to have negative memories arise when you look at your family photos. 

So if your child is being silly or cheeky or just not listening to directions during our shoot, try not to let it stress you. Unless there are special needs, which we will have discussed prior to your session, I’m more than happy to be the enforcer in this environment. I want you to focus on enjoying your session, enjoying your children, and if they’re being silly, just know that I can work with that. Sometimes the best shots come from kids being a bit crazy.
